Katrina Burns – Competition Team & Recreational Dance
Katrina has always had a strong passion for dance and theatre. Since the age of 4 she could be found around the dance studio practicing and developing her love for the art form. She has over 15 years training in disciplines such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap and modern, and has been instructing and assisting in such disciplines for over 10 years. Katrina has studied both B.A.T.D and C.D.T.A syllabus over her many years of training before embarking on her post-secondary career becoming a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioral Sciences. She believes dance to be a great tool and outlet for all children, young and old. She is very passionate about spreading her love of dance to the next generations by helping them build strong foundations in which to develop their own love for the art form.

Dawn Smith – Competition Team & Recreational Dance
Since she was three Dawn has been dancing with a passion and fulfillment that has driven her and that has never stopped. Starting in performing arts programs in her hometown Perth, Ottawa and Toronto ON. She had studied in RAD Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap and Jazz.

Going professional at the age of nine years old and she has performed in Phantom of the Opera, Pop Sensations, Fame and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She was selected 1 of six across North America to Completing a New and innovative RAD Associate teacher training program with Perform Art Studios / Perform Art College in North Vancouver, BC. They then employed Dawn while completing her last year as a Teacher. She then started to aid in bringing Creative Arts programming back into schools for the Vancouver School Board and UBC. Since then she has professionally danced and choreographed / taught across Canada ever since. As you can Image Dawn find most creativity in growing with the students and teaching them not just the Arts, but the basics and positive demeanor of life.




Sabrina Gray – Competition Team & Recreational DanceSabrina has been with Dreams in Motion since its second year of Business. She started with Jazz but quickly spread into many styles including Ballet up to grade 5, Tap, Acro, Pointe, Lyrical and Contemporary. She has also been part of over 20 Musical Theater Performances with Dreams, and has Choreographed 4 of them. She also was part of the Queens Dance Club while attending Queens University. Sabrina has also been privileged to travel down to Florida to dance in the Disney World Parade, as well as being one of two students selected to take part in a workshop at the Broadway Dance Academy in New York City. Sabrina has been teaching Acro, Tap Jazz and Ballet for Dreams starting in 2014, and was a summer counselor from 2009 to 2013. This past year she has also been teaching the outreach dance program at T.I.E.S. Sabrina is a certified/registered Acrobatique AcroDance Instructor and looks forward to sharing her new knowledge with the students. Dreams In Motion is an Acrobatique AcroDance Member Studio!


Katie Walliskatie

Katelyn Wallis – Recreational Dance
Katelyn is going on her 15th year dancing here at Dreams in Motion. When she was 11, she was asked to join the competitive team and has competed in many competitions bringing back many medals and ribbons for the last 5 years. She has taken many styles of dance such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, modern, pointe,  musical theatre, tap, ballroom and highland. She has achieved up to grade 4 in her ballet exams, and was accepted into LEAP, an art school in Kingston. Katie also auditioned and received a role in Ballet Jorgen’s Nutcracker. Katie is very excited for this year and hopes everyone enjoys their time at Dreams in Motion as much as she does.

Alexandria Hornbeck – Recreational Dance
Alex started dance in grade 4 and has kept dance as a huge daily part of her life. She has been on the Dreams In Motion competitive team for the past 6 years and now currently taking recreational classes. Throughout the 8 years she has been dancing, she has done various classes in many different styles. Alex has also passed all ballet dance exams at highly commended standard. She has traveled to many places for different dance conventions, and many competitions. Alex was also lucky enough to travel to Disney World in Florida with other students from Dreams In Motion to perform and be apart of their “Dance the World” parade. Over the past 8 years Alex has found herself connecting more into emotional kinds of dance like ballet, pointe, contemporary, and lyrical. From dance she has grown into an independent,confident young woman. She has always had the love and patience for young children and can’t wait to share her knowledge and love of dance with younger students. Alex is entering grade 12 at Regiopolis-Notre Dame and hopes to continue to be an honour roll student to reach her end goal of university after grade 12.



Saige Paquette  and Claire Paquette

Saige & Claire have been at Dreams In Motion since 2009.  They started on the Competition Team in 2013. After taking a year off from Competition Team while still taking dance classes, they joined the team again for 2017. Saige & Claire have participated in Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro, Hip Hop and Ballroom. They have a Grade 4 level in ballet through CDTA. Saige & Claire have been on stage in many Musical Theatre Productions.  They had the privilege of performing at Walt Disney World in Florida both on stage and in the  “Dance the World” parade. Over the last couple of years they have been teacher assistants in dance class and were Camp Counselors for the summer of 2016 at Dreams In Motion teaching dance, and other classes. Saige & Claire are entering Grade 12 at Gananoque Secondary School with honours and are in the SHSM (Specialist High School Majors) program. They are looking forward to having the opportunity to teach classes this year!!


Kerri Paquette – Office Administrator

Kerri has been volunteering at Dreams In Motion since 2008 and was a member of the Dreams In Motion Board of Directors. As a child she participated in gymnastics and tap. She taught gymnastics as a student teacher. She was an avid horse back rider as well and spent many hours volunteering with students with special needs as well as with the elderly. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in 1990 with a diploma in Behavioural Science Technology. She received the Principal’s Award, President’s Award, Academic Counsel Award (graduating top of her class) and was on the List of Distinction. She has spent the last several years at Dreams In Motion learning more about dance and even taking some dance classes. Kerri has been taking part in many theatrical productions behind the scenes as Stage Manager, Set Manger (& builder), Props Manager, Costuming and occasionally she could be seen on stage too! In 2013 Kerri was hired at Dreams in the position of Administrative Director. Kerri is pleased to welcome everyone into our brand new, renovated facility!!
